| INTRODUCTION
The New Mexico Young America Cheerleaders (NMYAC) is a program of cheerleading and other related physical activities for boys and girls. Headquarters are located at 5300 Ponderosa Drive, NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110, P. O. Box 3482, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87190. NMYAFL is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization pursuant to the IRS regulations. Policies and affairs of NMYAFL are managed by a duly elected board of directors (BOD). OBJECTIVES
The objectives and purposes for which NMYAC is formed are as follows: (1) to engage in teaching and encouraging participation in the sport of cheerleading (2) to assist in combating juvenile delinquency by promoting the physical and emotional well being of young people by interesting them in participating in cheerleading and other related activities, (3) to further teamwork, sportsmanship and the importance of physical activity in their lives, and (4) to carry on competitive games and competitions in the City of Albuquerque and the State of New Mexico. ASSIGNMENT OF CHEERLEADERS TO TEAMS All Metro-NMYAFL/YAC districts are identical to the established high school districts and as such all teams in each district shall have the same team colors and name as their high school district. If two or more teams are established in a single division and district the BOD will determine the team name and colors.
Cheerleaders must be at least six (6) years old and no older than fourteen (14) years old and in the eighth grade by August 31 of the current year. PLEASE NOTE WHEN CONSOLIDATIONS ARE DONE IF THERE IS NO CHEER COACH FOR THE TEAM YOUR CHEERLEADER IS SIGNED UP FOR YOUR CHEERLEADER WILL BE MOVED TO A TEAM WITH A CHEER COACH. IF THIS IS DONE AND YOU CHOOSE TO NOT HAVE YOUR CHEERLEADER/YELL LEADER MOVED THERE WILL BE NO REFUND BECAUSE YAC DID HAVE A SQUAD FOR YOUR CHEER/YELL LEADER TO CHEER ON.

NMYAC will supply the cheerleader uniform, pom-poms and bloomers. Yell leaders will receive a top and pair of shorts. The uniforms are custom fit, which will require that each cheerleader be scheduled for a fitting. NMYAC CANNOT AND WILL NOT GUARANTEE DELIVERY OF UNIFORMS BEFORE THE FIRST GAME FOR ANY CHEERLEADER/YELL LEADER REGISTERED AND FITTED AFTER THE BEGINNING OF JULY. There will be NO DISCOUNTS for late registrations. MASCOT PARENTS - YOU MAY NOT AT ANY TIME LEAVE YOUR MASCOT WITH THE CHEER COACH WITHOUT SOMEONE 18 OR OLDER WATCHING THEM. YOU CANNOT LEAVE YOUR MASCOT WHILE YOU WATCH YOUR FOOTBALL PLAYER PRACTICE OR AT THE GAME! NO EXCEPTIONS! REGISTRATION FEES AND REFUND POLICY The registration fee for participation in NMYAC is $150.00 for Fall and $105.00 for Spring cheer/yell leaders and $90.00 for mascots, payable at the time of registration. NO CHEER/YELL LEADER WILL BE ASSIGNED A REGISTRATION NUMBER NOR WILL THEY BE ASSIGNED TO A SQUAD UNTIL THE $150.00 REGISTRATION FEE IS PAID IN FULL AND A BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND PROOF OF ADDRESS IS PROVIDED TO THE LEAGUE!! By signing the registration form you acknowledge, understand and agree to the following: REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE!! NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. If your cheer/yell leader is unable to participate for any reason the registration fee will be considered a donation to NMYAC!!! PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY AND ALL REQUESTS FOR REFUNDS WILL BE DENIED. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS!!! RULES OF CONDUCT FOR COACHES, CHEERLEADERS, PARENTS/GUARDIANS AND SPECTATORS Any person(s) participating in NMYAFL/YAC in any capacity (coach, cheer/yell leader, parent, sponsor, spectator, or official) are strictly prohibited from consuming any alcoholic beverages and/or drugs, and/or tobacco products on any practice or game field before, during, or after any practice or game or any other team related functions fundraisers and banquets. This policy shall apply even where city ordinance permits the consumption of alcoholic beverages or tobacco product use in city parks. Additionally, the use of profanity, physical abuse, verbal abuse, hitting, kicking, or striking of any individual, and in particular, any youth will not be tolerated by NMYAFL/YAC. Any violation of these policies by any NMYAFL/YAC participant will be dealt with swiftly and severely without exception! Therefore, all participants of NMYAFL/YAC will act with proper restraint toward any individual and in particular to any game/cheer competition official. NMYAFL/YAC game/cheer competition officials are the final authority on all game/cheer competition rules and related issues. There is no appeal or grievance process of any sort where game/cheer competition officials are concerned! Any improper conduct toward any official/commissioner by any NMYAFL/YAC participant will not be tolerated. Improper conduct includes but is not limited to the following: taunting, fighting, profanity, and physical or verbal abuse or threats. Violation of this policy by any participant of NMYAFL/YAC will result in the suspension of the offending individual from participation in NMYAFL/YAC activities for a time to be determined by the NMYAFL/YAC board of directors. Violation of any of the policies described above could result in immediate forfeiture of the game/cheer competition being played or the permanent disbarment of the offending individual from any future participation in NMYAFL/YAC. GRIEVANCES/DISPUTES RESOLUTION, CONSENT TO WAIVER OF LITIGATION, BINDING ARBITRATION All grievances against any coach, cheer/yell leader, player, officer, or NMYAFL/YAC league official must be submitted in writing to the NMYAFL/YAC office. Grievances against coaches must be submitted in writing and addressed to the Coach's Selection Committee. All other grievances must be submitted in writing and addressed to the NMYAFL/YAC board of directors. Only written grievances will be acted upon!!! Game officials are the highest authority during any game and there is absolutely no grievance procedure nor is there any appeal process where game officials are concerned! All allowed appeals of final determinations by the NMYAFL/YAC board of directors shall be submitted to binding Arbitration in accordance with league Regulations. PLAYERS, CHEERLEADERS, YELL LEADERS, PARENTS, GUARDIANS, OR ANY ONE EXECUTING THIS FORM KNOWLINGLY CONSENTS TO WAIVING ANY RIGHTS TO AVAIL THEMSELVES TO THE CIVIL COURT SYSTEM AND ACCEPTS AS THE SOLE REMEDY FOR DISPUTE RESLOUTION BINDING ARBITRATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE NMYAFL/YAC REGULATIONS. MEDICAL NMYAFL/YAC does not require your child to have a physical check up by a physician to participate in the league. However, NMYAFL/YAC does strongly suggest that a physical check-up be performed to determine your child's physical suitability to compete in the league. AGREEMENT By signing the cheer/yell leader registration form, both the parent(s)/guardian(s) and the cheer/yell leader acknowledge, understand and agree to abide by all rules, policies and procedures listed above and in the NMYAFL League Rules Handbook and YAC Manual. These policies, procedures and rules can be changed without notice at the discretion of the NMYAFL/YAC board of directors. If any part of the Cheerleader Registration Packet is held to be unenforceable, such holding will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other part of this Packet so long as the remainder of the Packet is reasonably capable of completion. |
