NMYAC Cheerleading League Ages

Your child's league age is determined by his/her age on 31 Aug. Our Cheerleading Program is comprised of age groups called Divisions.  

5 and 6 year olds.

6 year olds are Mascots unless they participated in the previous fall season then they can waive up to be a cheerleader and participate in full competitions. 

7 year olds are Mighty Mites (7U) 

8 year olds are Pee Wees (8U)

9 year olds are Rookies (9U)

10 year olds are Freshman (10U)

11 year olds are Sophomores (11U)

12 year olds are Juniors (12U)

13-15 year olds are Seniors/Varsity (14U)
